Happiness. It is an elusive goal, especially in our times. What is the magic formula for attaining it? The first thing to understand is that magic has nothing to do with it. Happiness is a function of knowlwdge. Living without understanding turns everything into a chore. Conversely, perceiving even a small amount of the underlying reason behind things can turn even otherwise painful and 'mundane' situations into meaningful, satisfying experiences. This book is about doing just that: turning the everyday into the uncommon, the meaningless into the meaningful. To do so, it is necessary to attack the big questions: What is life? What is the purpose of creation? What does G-d want from us? What is the definition of happiness? What is a human being? What is a Jew? Lives can be turned around dramatically when all of a sudden a previously obscure or unknown principle becomes clear. It can be as simple as that. Yet, too often we run away from the very things which we need to make the most out of life. " Don't confuse me with the facts" is the all too common attitude. Nevertheless, the "facts" are our most important allies. And they never run away. They are always there for us to utilize whenever we choose to do so. All we have to do is choose to do so.
