Full Description
Insights On Raising Children From The Weekly ParshaBeloved Children is a sequel to Beloved Companions, the author's previous best-selling book about marriage. This new volume comes in response to the great popular demand for more books of this kind. The book is arranged according to the weekly parsha, and each parsha covers three areas: a story of a great rabbi, then a midrash, and finally, practical applications regarding raising children. The reader thus attains three benefits. Every week, he has a story to share with his family. Secondly, he is provided with a deeper understanding of the weekly parsha. And thirdly, he is given important practical information to help him educate his children. Although not everyone will readily admit that they need guidance in raising children, nevertheless all are eager to hear new ideas on the weekly parsha. Thus this book will appeal to a wide audience, since the information it contains is so diversified and deals with many subjects besides raising children. Every parsha of the Torah has a separate chapter in this book, as do all the major holidays, including Tisha B'av. Raising children is a subject everyone can benefit from, whether we are parents, grandparents, or teachers. Anyone who deals with children must know how to handle them properly. Mistakes in such an important area can have far-reaching consequences, and thus any sound advice we can obtain will always be of great value. Although "children" are mentioned throughout the book, teenagers are also intended. There are some differences, but in general the same principles apply. The author's qualification for writing this book lie in his having been a teacher for over thirty years and from his own experience raising a large family. The author has also counseled countless parents and their children in person and in his live call-in radio program in Jerusalem on the subject of raising children. People who have heard the author's advice have called back to confirm how beneficial and effective it has been, which encouraged him to write this book to reach an even larger audience. by Rabbi Yisroel Pesach Feinhandler
