The object of this book is to teach the beginner the fundamentals of the Yiddish language. Modern orthography, used in modern Yiddish literature and textbooks, has been adopted, which greatly facilitates the study of the language. This work is an enlarged and revised edition of Der Yiddisher Lerer, first published in 1924, and contains the fundamental rules of grammar, exercises in reading and translation, a Yiddish-English vocabulary before each lesson, explanations and instructions in English, and a Yiddish-English and English-Yiddish dictionary.
