The one concern which I always had when I was involved with the Brochos Bee on the Eastern sea- board was the need for a basic standardized text from which to study the Brochos and halochos, and to be questioned from that text. Therefore, as coordinator of the West Coast Brochos Bee, I com- piled this booklet to be used as a standard for that regional Bee. I realized the task that I undertook was a tough one, because the Dinim of Brochos are difficult, with a number of opinions. The more I delved into this subject, the more difficult my task became. Of course this text was not meant to be the final authority as far as the Brochos Bee (West Coast) was concerned. If the student or teacher followed an opinion other than the ones mentioned in this booklet, and stated the source, the answer was readily accepted.
