Passover commemorates the story of the Exodus, in which the ancient Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. It is celebrated for seven or eight days and is one of the most widely observed Jewish holidays. Each of the six items arranged on the plate has special significance to the retelling of the story of the exodus from Egypt, which is the focus of this ritual meal.

This plate comes with a solid brass base that has circular holes cut from it for the cups to sit in. Also allowing the cups to be removable. The cups are made from pewter and havehand-pierced pewter Hebrew words representing the ceremonial foods that go on a traditional Passover plate.
