Mishloach Manot and Purim Tradition
The Book of Esther calls Purim a time of "feasting and gladness," and encourages us to send gifts of food and drink to our families and friends. The mitzvah of giving Mishloach Manot is intended to provide enough food for all, as well as to increase love and good feelings during the holiday. The tradition specifies that at least two different types of food and/or drink should be given for Mishloach Manot, most commonly in the form of Purim baskets. Luckily, Eichler’s holiday store carries delicious gift baskets, Purim costumes, books, music, and more for your Purim celebration! Read more!
