It was 25 years ago when Abie Rotenberg and Moshe Yess a"h first introduced Jewish children to Dr. Midos, Shnooky, Dizzy and the rest of the Marvelous Midos Machine gang. This series of three children albums concluded its run in 1988 and remains a classic example of quality 'dutainment' of the highest caliber. While Uncle Moishy and Country Yossi albums focused mostly on Mitzvah observance, the Marvelous Midos Machine and its creative use of story and song, was there to teach our precious kinderlech the fundamentals of good Midos. Incredibly, after so many years Abie has reconvened his cast and has crafted a brand new Marvelous Midos Machine entitled "Shnooky's Bar Mitzva"! Yes, the time-line will continue seamlessly a week after Shnooky's "Lost in Time" adventure with another riveting episode that takes place in Brooklyn and features the Marvelous Midos Machine at the heart of the story. As always, the music on the Marvelous Midos Machine features wonderful lyrics and exciting tunes. Furthermore, this episode include guest vocal performances by Baruch Levine and Shlomo Simcha. Musical arrangements were crafted by the talented Eli Woznica of Toronto and a wonderful children's choir helps to makes these songs entertaining and memorable. Some of the Midos feautured in the album are: Hislhavus (enthusiasm), Vatronus (giving up your spot/toy etc.) and Savlonus (patience). There is also a special "Bar Mitzvah Song" about true meaning of becoming a Bar Mitzvah. Of course there will be a slew of new characters with a all new adventure. So this Chanukah why don’t you get something you and your children will enjoy while they learn important lessons in good Midos.
