The author writes: "No doubt anyone possessing wisdom wants to grow spiritually, in awareness, and in good deeds. And there is no better way to grow than by studying, delving into, and meditating on Torah wisdom. Therefore, I have gathered a wealth of spiritual guidance taught by the great Hasidic master and teacher, the author of the Sfas Emes, Rabbi Yehudah Aryeh Leib, the second leader of the Hasidic dynasty of Gur. [His teachings] speak succinctly and directly to the soul. They instruct and enlighten, rebuke and demand, uplift and inspire: in a word, they point the way."
