Pardes Rimonim (P/B)

In the years since it was first issued, "Pardes Rimonim" has become a classic. Since the last edition of the book eight years ago, advances in the biomedical sciences have presented new challenges for Torah Jews to define more precisely the most fundamental moral ethical axioms of Halakhic Judaism. These issues include: When does human life begin? When does it end? Is there ever a situation when we may refuse to treat the terminally ill? May we make use of the new methods of infertility management? Again, new formulations of the evolutions of the evolutionary theory, the impact of genetic manipulation on the world food supply and on the integrity of humanity's genetic pool now pose problems. On the other hand, the galloping increase in the rate of assimilation and intermarriage, of ignorance of the Torah lifestyle, and the increasing dispersion of the Jewish people and its isolation from centers of Torah scholarships increased the threat of Jewish survival and integrity. This edition of "Pardes Rimonim" has begun to address these issues by attempting to present the Torah life-style both conceptually and in practice. a new section on gynecological procedures and several articles on the approach of Torah Judaism to contemporary issues provide a comprehensive approach to a full understanding of the Torah way of life.
