Petals of Poetry

“Let the flowers teach that there is purpose for pain and there is life after, and because of, rain.” Every garden begins with a seed, and Judaism with a deed. We don’t know how far a mitzvah or a tefillah can go; it is just one that we need in order to grow. Poetry is that promising light when there is none in sight. It is the echo of the soul, the tune of hope in the tunnels of life. Together we will dive deep and surrender to the soil, hold onto our roots as we toil in planting new parts of ourselves. She is a graduate of Shulamith School for Girls, Sha’alvim for Women, and Yeshiva University. A true New Yorker, she sees the beauty in diversity and our differences as an opportunity for greater connections and conversations. Some of her writing influences include Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, z”l, Mary Oliver, and Virginia Woolf, who deeply understood the human experience and profoundly captured it in their works. Efrat can often be found on a park bench or in a cafe noting the little nuances of life. She believes creativity and storytelling are powerful tools for enhancing one’s avodat Hashem and encourages everyone to find what speaks to them.
