Handmade Challah Challah Covers
Sarah Jacobs grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts, the daughter of a pulpit rabbi who loved to collect Jewish art and ritual art. She graduated from the Maimonides School in Brookline, Mass., and then studied art history at Brandeis University. After moving to New York City, where she held a variety of positions at Jewish organizations, she decided to devote herself full-time to being a Judaica craftsperson, as well as being a mother to her three children. Over the past 20 years, she has focused primarily on Jewish crafts in fabric. She has exhibited at juried shows throughout the NY metropolitan region, been featured in national Jewish publications and has had pieces displayed at the New York Historical society. She writes a regular blog, "SewNewYork" (www.sewnewyork.blogspot.com), that focuses mostly on sewing as well as on a potpourri of other domestic and artistic issues. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and two of her children who are still at home.
