Chayei Adam

For much of European Jewry, the go-to authoritative halachic work was the Chayei Adam. In fact, it is known that the Chofetz Chaim learned the Chayei Adam with the masses between mincha and maariv, and many of its rulings were incorporated into the Mishna Berura.

Until now, no English translation of the Chayei Adam has been published.

In this monumental work, Rabbi Dovid Lewin not only translates this classic work, but his elaborate notes give the reader an appreciation of the background of the Chayei Adam's teachings in addition to relevant sources for greater understanding - citing and incorporating the rulings of contemporary poskim as well.
